Dear
student:
The
Faculty of Engineering of the University of Ottawa is
pleased to invite you, future students (Grade 11 and 12), to
our Engineering Summer School.
This
workshop is offered on a voluntary basis and last five days.
During the workshop, many activities are planned, all aiming
to simplify the transition from high school/cégep to
university.
More
precisely, the workshop will allow students to understand
how mathematics can be used as a tool for problem solving
and applications in engineering.
A
registration fee of $150 is required. Also, accommodations
on campus are available for students who live outside of the
Ottawa area. For more information, please consult the
University of Ottawa Residences: www.ottawaresidences.com.
To
register, you need to complete the
form
attached and return it to us before July 13, 2007.
Finally,
we would like to take this opportunity to mention that any
student registered to a first year course at the Faculty of
Engineering automatically has access to the virtual
mentoring service. This online service will allow students
to interact with the mentor; a student currently enrolled in
engineering. With the help of a discussion forum, an email
system and multiple pages on various topics, students will
surely find the answers to their questions. To use the
service, you need to connect to the Virtual Campus:
www.tlss.uottawa.ca.
For
more information on the program, don’t hesitate to contact
Professor Habash at rhabash@site.uottawa.ca
In the
hopes of seeing you at the workshop, we wish you a nice
summer.
Sincerely,
Mélanie
